War Hero, 40-year Sheet Metal Worker dies in Amherst

Leroy Kubuske died Saturday, April 19, 2014 in Amherst, Ohio. A Sheet Metal Worker for 40 years, he retired in 1988, but Kubuske, 88, was also known as one of Northeast Ohio’s most decorated and beloved war heroes.

During World War II, Kubuske flew 27 missions as a Boeing B-17 “Flying Fortress” gunner over targets in Germany, France, and Holland…
