Training – A Commitment to Excellence
Sheet Metal Workers Local Union #33 is committed to providing its partner contractors with only the highest-quality sheet metal workers – a commitment that begins with the Union Sheet Metal Industry’s certified and ultra-modern apprenticeship and worker-upgrade training programs.
The Union Sheet Metal Industry Joint Apprenticeship and Training Committee (J.A.T.C.) is a labor-management effort between SMW Local #33 and its partner contractors through the local Ohio/WV Sheet Metal and Air Conditioning Contractors’ National Association (SMACNA). The J.A.T.C. is a labor-management commission that funds and administers the Union Sheet Metal Industry’s world-class, certified and accredited Apprenticeship and Journeyman upgrade-training programs.
Training of SMW Local #33 members is conducted primarily in the state-of-the-art, 32,000-square-foot Sheet Metal Training Center. With the Center, Local #33 trains its apprentices to enter the industry right away with the most up-to-date skills and knowledge available, while also upgrading the skills of our journeyman sheet metal workers.
